“When Does Healing Hurt the Healer?”
A Saint-Germain Channeling

This channeling is part of a Soul purpose reading with Saint-Germain.
It's been reprinted here with our client's permission.

"Dear Saint-Germain. I am blessed with a health care practice which includes reflexology, and other energy balancing techniques. I'm happiest when I'm helping others feel better. But I am especially vulnerable whenever my clients report no improvement. At these times, I question my adequacy professionally, and I become uncomfortable socially. Am I really doing enough as a healer or should I try to incorporate new methods into my practice?"

My good friend, I AM Saint-Germain. One of the things that is part of your Soul purpose in this lifetime is to overcome self-doubt and insecurity. You’re encouraged in this so that you might develop the confidence necessary to reach your goals professionally. Building a health care practice and a client base is a process requiring patience, knowledge, and skill. But it also involves important inner shifts in the way you feel about yourself. Simply adding new techniques will not address this.

Balancing Intellect and Intuition.

The challenge that you are facing now, is that your head and your heart – your intellect and your intuition – are not always communicating in ways that mutually support your best interests. Here’s what I mean:

It’s clear that you’re enthusiastic about the healing arts, and that your eagerness to be successful easily attracts the attention of your heart. When this happens, the intuitive and magnetic properties of your heart go to work, creating potentials and opportunities for you to get involved. This excites you, of course, because you want to do what you love. But difficulties can arise from this, too.

You see, if you try everything that appeals to your heart all at once, then you may be unable to bring any one thing to successful completion.

It’s precisely at this time that your intuitive heart could use the support of your intellectual head to evaluate the practicalities of your goals. But what does it do, instead?

Instead of helping you, your intellect – under the influence of the ego – fills your mind with worries about what you “should” be doing to be a better practitioner. What you would be doing, if only you were a better practitioner.

It tells you that if you were truly competent, then you would be doing this, that, or the other thing. But it never lets you rest assured in the strength of your abilities. It only fills your mind with doubt.

Thus, the mind – with the ego’s backing – begins to generate so much worry that it starts to affect your confidence. Instead of helping you to manifest your goals and dreams in practical ways, it fills your head with doubt by suggesting that you’re not good enough to be a credible healer.

When this miscommunication between your head and heart spins out of control, it leads you into confusion. You find yourself thinking one thing and feeling another – so that in the end, you’re never really sure what you want or what you need to do about it.

Can you see how this division between your head and heart is hurting you as a healer? It's leading you to make impulsive decisions about your profession, on the one hand – while on the other, it's creating obsessive regret about your imagined shortcomings.

Dealing with Criticism and Complaints.

Your empathy as a healer can make it difficult for you to handle the occasional client who is critical, or who complains about the treatment they’ve received from you.

Naturally, if you’re feeling inferior about your skills or knowledge base, then this can compel you to learn more techniques or master additional details. There is certainly nothing wrong with maintaining a standard of excellence that feels good to you, and further training can be part of this. If this is the case, then by all means – you should continue.

But if you are rushing into further training to compensate for feelings of insecurity, or to cope with the criticism and disappointment of others, then it will not likely work for you.

You should listen to your clients with empathy, certainly. You already know that this is an important part of your skill set, and that it’s integral to the healing process. But don’t worry so much about what your clients think of your abilities. This is your domain, and you’re on top of it. Remind yourself that there’s nothing wrong with the way you do your healing work – and that there is nothing more that you need to learn, unless there’s truly a joy in it for you.

Also, remember not to become confused by signals or signs of no improvement in your patients. The persistence of symptoms does not necessarily mean the absence of healing input on your part. People must choose healing at the core of their being before this can be facilitated by a healer. Even Jesus taught this in his ministry to the sick. There is no other way.

Remember, too, that healing is not about pleasing others. It’s about having confidence in your abilities, and then trusting that your head and heart will reveal the most appropriate role for you, and the most appropriate process for them.

Healing the Internal Dialogue.

My friend, you are asked to have greater faith in your intuitive abilities and to downplay your feelings of insecurity. You’re reminded to stay clear and confident in your knowledge, rather than falling into doubt about this.

You should not undermine your effectiveness by feeding your doubts and insecurities with unnecessary criticism. All that is really asked of you is to maintain a high-minded awareness of your integrity as a healer, and then to keep your personal commitment to the knowledge and skills that your profession requires of you.

The more you affirm this, the more you will find it to be so. You just need to encourage your head and heart to communicate about this regularly. Although this may sound silly, you can even imagine that they are doing this, much as caring partners would. Imagine that they are sending complementary messages to each other, something like this:

Dear Head. This is your Heart speaking. I love you dearly, and I am here to tell you that I’m completely in touch with my intuitive guidance. This means that I know exactly how to direct our healing energies for the benefit of our clients. Please trust that I will call upon you on every occasion, and that I have complete confidence in your skills and ability. Your friend, the Heart.

Dear Heart, Thank you for your encouragement. I, too, have faith in your wisdom and I acknowledge that our combined talents offer the best possibility for success. Please know that I support you in our work together, and that I am committed to our passion for healing. Your friend, the Head.

Try this exercise whenever you are tempted by despair or discouragement. Remember that miscommunication between the head and heart can be quite disruptive because it diverts your attention from the things you already know how to do, and interferes with the intuitive flow of energy that you use to facilitate healing.

The fact that you love what you do, and that you do it well, should be sufficient. Trust in this, and then act with confidence in this noble profession that you have chosen.

You are deeply loved, my friend.

I AM Saint-Germain

I would like to add a few things. Let go of Ego, that is where the fear comes from. Also, you will not be able to help everyone. For 2 different reasons. 1. Everyone resonates at different frequencies. If you are working on someone who is at a higher frequency than your self, you will not be able to assist them. In fact, you may make them sick. 2. Fir there higher good. If they have a life lesson to learn from that illness, until they learn it, they will not be able to be cleared from it.
